PSE&G MTB Project
On or about Saturday, February 29, 2020, PSE&G and its contractors will utilize helicopter crews to help install the next section of MTB transmission line between the PSE&G transmission structures in Community Park to the transmission structure on the north side of Mercer Lake (near the rowing center) in West Windsor.
The helicopter activity in West Windsor is expected for a four-day period, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting (no work Sunday). The schedule for this activity is an estimated timeframe, subject to weather, and may be slightly adjusted. This activity entails pulling the rope from one transmission structure to the next using a small helicopter. Brief and intermittent road closures are to be expected along Princeton-Hightstown Rd, Brians Way, Penn Lyle Rd., Village Rd. West, Conover Road and South Post Road/Caspersen Rowing Center access road in West Windsor. These closures will be performed in coordination with the West Windsor Police.
Safety is the highest priority for PSE&G. It remains essential that anyone and everyone refrain from going onto the transmission right-of-way during construction. Please note that all work crews associated with the Project will have credentials identifying them as working on behalf of PSE&G.

The schedule for this activity is an estimated timeframe, subject to weather, and may be slightly adjusted.

- PSE&G MTB Tower Replacement Project Begins Monday June 17th
- PSE&G is working on a statewide electric reliability initiative. A portion of the Metuchen – Trenton – Burlington (MTB) project will take place along the existing transmission right-of-way in West Windsor. The 55-mile reliability project, which runs from PSE&G’s Metuchen Switching Station in Edison to its Burlington Switching Station in Burlington, is designed to strengthen the electric transmission system for electric customers in the region. The project is separated into three segments. The segment within West Windsor is known as the “Brunswick to Trenton” segment. It replaces critical infrastructure that has reached the end of its life. On average, these transmission facilities are 80-plus years old.
PSE&G will hold a public workshop from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at the West Windsor Senior Center, located at 271 Clarksville Road.
